So many people have asked me lately how business has changed with the economy. Well, the thing I've noticed most is that couples are opting for small, destination weddings. AND those who were planning a destination wedding out of the US are now moving their plans to beautiful South Florida.
Being a wedding planner, I shouldn't say that it's nice to see budgets drop in number, because that means less income for everyone in my business, including my business. BUT, I love working with any bride on a budget. The big budgets are easy, and anyone can make an event beautiful on an endless budget. There's a lot more satisfaction in personalizing a wedding with tiny details instead of over the top decor. Plus, the beauty of the ceremony and meaning of the day is being brought back again. What's that saying?? "If couples focused on the marriage as much as the wedding... blah blah blah..." Well, there is obvious truth to that! :)
I'm working with a bride from Minnesota that is so excited about their wedding in South Florida that she makes the snow melt on her window seal as she daydreams of a Florida sunset... she's a doll, and I love being a part of her wedding planning, especially hearing her excitement over the phone!
My advice to the budget bride in these economic trying times... tie the knot Destination Style. There are so many resources and great planners out there who can help you accomplish your dream destination wedding on a dime. The good part about the economy for the bride is that all vendors are a little more flexible. That means your wedding planner may have a little more negotiating power with their vendors. We've all got to pull together these days!
This is so true about everything! And South Florida is the perfect place for a destination wedding :)
